What this site is
maninderenglish.com publishes free English lessons, vocabulary, quizzes and study tools for Hindi-speaking learners, written by Maninder Thind. Everything on the site is free to read and use. There is no account to create and nothing to buy.
Using the material
You may read, study, print and share links to anything on this site. You may quote short passages in your own work with a link back. Teachers may use the lessons and quizzes with their own students in a classroom, free of charge.
You may not republish lessons, vocabulary entries, quiz questions or explanations wholesale on another website, app, YouTube channel or PDF — whether or not you credit me, and whether or not you charge for it. You may not scrape the site or use automated tools to copy it in bulk. You may not use the content to train a commercial model or to build a competing product.
All original text, explanations, example sentences, illustrations, quiz questions and audio on this site are © Maninder Thind and are protected by copyright.
Accuracy, and what this site is not
The lessons reflect my own experience of British English, including thirteen years of working in British corporate environments in London. I write them carefully and correct them when I find mistakes. But:
- English usage varies by region, register and generation. A rule that holds in a London office may not hold in Manchester, Mumbai or New York.
- The level test gives an indication of your level. It is not a substitute for IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge or any official assessment, and no employer, university or visa authority will accept it.
- Nothing here is legal, financial, immigration or career advice, including the workplace-English and email lessons.
You are responsible for how you use what you learn here.
Availability
I run this site myself. It may be offline for maintenance, or a feature may break. I do not guarantee uptime, and I may add, change or remove lessons and tools at any time without notice.
Advertising and links
This site shows advertising through Google AdSense. I do not choose or endorse the individual ads shown, and I have no relationship with the advertisers. The site also links to YouTube and to other websites I find useful; I am not responsible for their content or their practices. See the Privacy Policy for how advertising cookies work.
Your submissions
If you send me a message through the contact form, you confirm the message is your own and does not infringe anyone’s rights. I may quote a question anonymously in a future lesson if it would help other learners — never with your name or email attached.
Limitation of liability
The site and everything on it are provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site, including any decision you make on the basis of a lesson, a quiz result or a level assessment.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Haryana, India, and any dispute will be handled by the courts there.
Changes
I may update these terms. The date at the top always shows the current version. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
