Courier
Meaning
A person or company that delivers packages, letters or documents.
हिंदी मेंएक व्यक्ति या कंपनी जो पैकेज, पत्र या दस्तावेज़ पहुंचाती है।
How this word actually lands
“Courier” exists in British English, but Indian English often uses it more freely as a verb. In India, it is common to hear “Please courier it to me.” A British colleague would be more likely to say “Please send it to me” or “Please post it to me,” depending on what is being sent. The noun is completely normal: “We used a courier to deliver the documents.” The difference appears when the word becomes a verb. “I'll courier the package” may be understood, but “I'll send the package” is more natural everyday British English. This is a useful example of how two varieties can take the same English noun and give it slightly different grammatical behaviour.
